The AFM is the system that deactivates 4 of the 8 cylinders to help with fuel economy. Many use a Diablosport tuner to turn it off. Does not get rid of all the engine components that are in there...but it helps. Can also get a little power and help the trans shifting with it as well. And to add to that a guy on here can apply a custom tune to the tuner and it really does some good. Not gobs of extra HP...but just makes it more responsive and drives much better. No trans gear hunting and a bit of increase power.

Thanks Delrio!

Interesting, makes sense. I was reading a thread about deleting it, but it's little bit above my skill level. Sounds like the Diablosport tuner would do the trick.

Yes...absolutely. Unless you have some damage from an issue...no sense ripping into the motor. I have not done anything with mine either. And hope to not have any problems leading to that...haha
