Yea my mpg isn't great at all, the combo of the 6.0L the 4l80 Tranny, 10 ply tires that are heavy....and a not so light truck doesn't bode well for MPG, it's still lower than it should be. My Knock sensors are bad, so my PCM has taken the liberty in retarding my timing for me, so I'm hoping after I fix those I will be up to 13/14, but if not it's not a huge deal.

Yea, I definetley have a 'ding or two', but I'm ok with that, As hard as i Try I can never keep trucks perfect. I have friends that their stuff is gorgeous all the time, mechanically I have OCD, everything else takes a back seat. I once had a friend clean my truck out because my passenger side floor had literally (he counted them) 88 empty coffee cups on the floor.

I try not to do that anymore, it looks bad to potential customers, and it's just gross, but dings, dents, scratches happen. I use it for work, and when it boils down to it, it's a tool for me albeit an expensive one.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I always liked the idea of a 1500hd. Really cool trucks IMO.

Yea, I was new to the 1500HD, when I saw this i thought it was a 2500. And I need a 2500/3500 for what I do with it. So when i saw the engine with that tranny, rear end, airbags, ect...I was like ok this will hold up. And my insurance is that of a 1/2 ton....

I did the knock sensors, I read it was going to take 6 hours, I had the motor torn down in 40 minutes. And back together in another 2 hours. Wasn't bad at all. Only issue I ran into was the return fuel line didn't sear right in the driver side rail...adjusted it and voila knock sensors done..

easy motor to work on, esp since i always had diesels.
