Newbie Introduction- Greetings from Ohio!

Postby widows_son [OP] » Sep 01 2020, 11:31pm

Hello all! It's great to have found a good community of fellow Silverado and Sierra owners. Just a little background on yours truly; My name is Greg and I live in Southwest Ohio with plans to hopefully be moving to Florida once this Covid-19 mess passes. A couple of months ago my trusty Trailblazer finally gave up the ghost so it was time to finally get a full size truck. Something that I have been listing over for quite awhile, I run my own electrical contracting business and while my Trailblazer was sufficient when starting out, more and more I could see the huge advantages of having a good truck. As luck would have it I stumbled across a great deal on a 2008 Sierra 1500 WT with only 35k miles! The only things I wish it had are some power locks and cruise control :( . What kind of modern day vehicle doesn't have cruise?? Anyway, thabk you all for being such an active community and I hope I can contribute to the forum's success. Cheers!

Welcome from Michigan. You can probably have cruise added. I bought a 2011 WT that didn't have cruise and drove me nuts. Like you said who doesn't get a vehicle with cruise? Well I found out that the wires were still run for cruise and were in the steering column ready for hook up. I got my mechanic to hooked up a lever to the wires and boom I've got cruise again. Could be worth checking.
