Sell me on tuning / modding a 2500HD 6.0

I dont see this thing being a truck to "wake up".
Although, i would like to hear from others that have the ol tank 6.0 and see what they've done and give honest feedback.

im hoping to skip the ones that just can tuned from diablo and feel its 100% faster.

I had an 04 2500HD 6.0l, I used a canned tune from a Hypertech tuner and it really made the truck perform better when I got on it and the RPMs came up. When I traded the truck, I returned it to stock tune and it felt like a dog on the way to the dealer. So in my experience, a tune wakes up this engine.

heck, I had a custom tune on a 3.5 impala and it made a world of difference on a 214 hp platform with a claimed 15-20hp difference running premium fuel. on a v8 I would think you'd have a similar or better experience. I'm going to tune my 16 in the next year probably.

I threw a cat back on my 16 5.3 and found it relieved some restriction in the exhaust and now it seems to have a little more torque and rev easier. an intake is sitting in the basement waiting to go on. just a couple of basic breathing mods can help a little and aren't overly expensive. I had a cousin with the 6.0 and he said just changing the muffler helped it run a little better.
