Can someone help me decide if I should paint my chrome grill gloss black? Would love to see if someone can photoshop it.

I don’t know if you plan on doing this yourself or what, but I did mine on my Silverado a couple years ago. It’s quite a process as chrome is difficult to keep paint on if you don’t do it just right. I removed my grill, sanded it, did several layers of self etching primer and then several layers of paint, then a couple layers of clear coat. It does look good I think, but I still have to do touch ups on occasion because of rock chips and such. Paint just doesn’t adhere well to chrome.

I was planning on doing it myself but worried about it holding up. I did see a gloss black Denali grill on eBay, but reluctant to buy it from there.

Well as awful as that looks chrome, I would buy three cans of Kylon flat black. I would also buy a bag of 000 steel wool. Rub all that awful chrome down and paint it flat black!
If you ruffed it up enough it should not chip and the flat black will hide any imperfections! You know you gotta get rid of those mirror caps! Hit them too!
Don't forget the door handles, pull that door trim off and remove the side badging!
Your gonna have to tint the headlights third brake light, tail lights and ditch the chrome steps!
Then it will look Good!

I wouldn’t do it because once it’s peeling it will look like [emoji90] and there’s no turning back.

Started the process by adding gloss black OEM wheels. Mirror caps and door handles in black gloss have been installed since this pic.

Added one with cap and handles. Not sure how it looks on here.
