Anyone use 3M Cavity Wax for Rust Prevention?

So my body shop guy swears by this stuff. He sprays it inside door, bed, etc panels to prevent rust formation from the inside. Had to trade my 2011 Silverado from the same issue with it rusting from the inside out.

I had him do my new 2022 Silverado last week. He sprayed inside doors, bed, rockers and any opening in the body and frame. Took a few days to cure, but looks like a melted candle wax texture when I checked it. it supposedly lasts for several years.

Anyone have any experience with 3M Cavity Wax!

Any product like that is very smart if you live where they use the chemicals on roads for snow and ice. That stuff is just ruthless on metal! I don't have the issue down here but like many, would not even consider a used vehicle from up that way due to how they deteriorate in just a few short years.

Scott is a body man with a youtube channel, VEHCOR and he swears by the stuff. Based on that we've used it too.

I used Fluid Film on the undercarriage of my 2011 Silverado as well. It helped there, but didn’t help with my bed rusting from the inside out. 3M Cavity Wax is applied inside the bed panels. When it cures, it’s like the consistency of ChapStick. I’ll continue to use FF for the undercarriage, but this stuff seems to bond better and have a consistency to last longer.

Frame was dipped in tank of the waxy coating at the frame plant.

Before using on frame, make sure the touch up product it is compatible. Some products will make a mess of what is currently on frame.
Daubert makes the product that is commonly used for frame touch-ups.

Thanks, Farmguy. This was not applied to the frame. Just the cavities in the frame and body panels. Appreciate the insight.
OK, I'm confused.
I guess I don't understand how it can be sprayed into cavities in the frame cavities, but not applied to the frame.

One of the reasons the dipping process is used is because it gets the coating into all the frame cavities.
