Finally replaced my struts and CV Axels

Finally replaced my struts and CV Axels

Postby thirdgen [OP] » Nov 10 2019, 1:00am

Took out my factory shocks (186,000 miles). It's very possible they were the originals...
Also replaced both CV Axels due to torn boots. I used AC Delco OE replacement Axels. The struts I used were RC "lifted struts". I removed my lower strut spacers, but kept the upper spacers.
Both sides came apart rough due to the lower strut bolts being rusted fast and snapping. The passengers side was worse cause I had to use a spring compressor for removal and installation due to the upper control arm bolts hitting the springs.
Was roughly a 4 hour job, (plenty of beer involved).

Looks like you need an alignment as well.
SierraHarley: So lets gets this straight.... your opinion is people shouldn't post their opinions and people should be able to do whatever they want although you're telling people that have a difference of opinion what they should do?

Good to see you got it all replaced. I agree with Mike though - definitely get an alignment.
