Lift Block Role Call

Lift Block Role Call

Postby magnum03 [OP] » Nov 07 2019, 10:36pm

Who here is running rear lift blocks?

I'm unsure what brand to buy and whether or not to go tapered or flat blocks. It seems some people experience vibration with tapered blocks to the point of removal. At some point tapered blocks are needed to correct pinion angle after 3"+(?) blocks in the rear. So I'd like to collect some info from people who have changed their rear blocks.

Please include:
Truck Model & Year-
Block Manufacturer-
Block Size-
Tapered or Flat-
Vibration (Yes/No)-
Other thoughts-

Any info appreciated!

2014 Silverado, 4wd Crew Cab
Not sure on manufacturer
2"
Tapered
No Vibration

I leveled my truck with 3" spacers in the front and a 2" block in the back. I wish I had gotten 3" block in the back because not the front sits a tad higher than the back. I will be getting 3" blocks in the near future.

Don’t buy flat. Buy tapered. No need to look into it

While the taper maybe the better route some manufacturers do sell blocks with more or less taper angle. It seems like a quarter of block threads started discuss vibration, so it seems relevant. Trying to narrow down possible problem causing brands to avoid and to save a headache in the future doesn't seem like it would hurt.

Almost all of those threads ether never have a op that says the final solution, or there was an installation error, or something else.
