Simple question. I own a 2015 Sierra 1500, will a hood from a 2015 2500HD be a direct swap? I know the grills are larger, and everything below the headlights are different, but from what I can tell the hood appears to still have the same dimensions.

I've looked through 10 pages of threads about hood swaps but could not find what I thought would have been a simple question. I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered.

Thanks for your help.

Well I've taken rough measurements and all appears to fit. The other idea I had was to 'test drive' or rent one and see if it swaps over before spending a grand or more on something that won't fit.

I'm not shy to fabrication work, my S10 has work done tip to tail and not a single thing is 'bolt on', but this is my daily driver I don't feel like messing around.

I don't have anything useful to add, other than I want the same thing you do. The hoods on the new HD Silverado's (with the build in scoop) look awesome, and would be a great visual addition to the 1500's.

That is pretty much what I was thinking. Looking at the '15 1500 and 2500 the hoods look like they have the same shape over the headlights and grill. The Silverado however look a bit different. I think the Silverado's upper grill shell is taller on the HD.
