I have a 95 Chevy Silverado with 96 thousand original miles. The engine runs great and the engine temp stays in normal range. The radiator is full of rust. One mechanic told me that all 95 Chevy 350 truck engines develop this rust problem. He said if I flush it all out and replace with new coolant the rust will develop again in a short time. Help!

He could be right but I would flush it and put new fluids in it. The fluids have preventatives to help combat the problem.
Depending on how bad it is now I wouldn't use a very strong chemical. The rusted parts might be getting too thin. Maybe multiple clean water flushes would be better.
And watch that drain cock. It may be frozen and you could twist it off ruining the radiator. Unhook the hoses from it would be safer.
