2003 Sierra running rough

Every now and then, my truck will start running pretty rough and throw a DT code. More often than not, it is because my after market air intake has slipped and a gap forms letting in air. I tried sealing the joint with duct tape, cleared the code, and all was well for a couple thousand miles or so. Now the engine light is back on and the truck is running very rough. I checked for leaks in the air intake but couldn't find any. I'm pretty sure it's having random misfires again and I don't know why. I'd also like to know how serious a problem this is.

I should be getting another truck next month, and when that happens I will lend my Sierra to my sister who has to make trips from the Boston area to Virginia for college. I want to make sure the truck is safe.

Do you have the ability to get it scanned and let us know what code it's throwing?

Random misfires are always a pain to fix.

I always recommend this video for starters:
