I need a little help because all my searches have been fruitless.
I need a transmission. For my 165k miles 4L60e and plan to do the rebuild myself. As I've never done this before, I have been looking for a core at my local junkyards and want to be sure I pick one up that is compatible.
Mine (2005) has an input speed sensor on the pump,which I believe was introduced in the 2004. Pre-2005 wire harness plugs are green. The plug changed to purple in 2006.
My big question is this... Am I looking only for a 2004 and 2005?
If I find a 2006, is the purple plug different? Can I replace it with a grey plug and everything work? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Second, does anyone know an online resource to help decode the transmission tag?
