New user. I have an old gasser that I love to death. Running awesome with 160k miles. The front end didn't last long with the lift or level that the previous owner had installed. I had it removed and brought back to stock. I found some stock wheels on FB marketplace and replaced the Fuel wheels & big tires (D260 2-piece Maverick). I'm looking forward to reading up on the forum. I need to find some nice tires to match up with the stock rims and figure out how to list the fuel wheels.
My goal with the truck is to tow boats long range when needed, and to be reliable. I'd like to own it for a long time.
This is her before picture, she was pretty slick with the big wheels but it wasn't my style.

I bought a 07 2500 new myself. 6.0 auto HD everything, $24K out the door. Hauled our lance camper and stock trailer with our 2 horses just fine. Was thrilled to get 15 + mph empty. Hats off to you for going back to OEM wheels and suspension.

Thanks all, I like the old body style too. Looking forward to reading and learning on the forum and taking care of the truck. Maybe some interior upgrades after I take care of the wheels and electrical gremlins.

What were the lift details and height? And what happened to the front end? I just bought a '05 2500HD 6.0 and I was thinking about some day putting a small lift and slightly larger tires. But now I am re thinking that.

I believe it was a 2" leveling kit with the torsion bars turned to raise the front end. My mechanic said the lift put an angle on all of the joints which reduces their lifespan. Instead of running level o- -o, it was o/ \o.
If I was using it off-road, or on the beach, maybe I would have kept the lift and fixed the front end. I am sure there are things you can do to mitigate the angles. But I just use the truck for towing, winter driving, and for fun.

Post up some new pics too whenever you can on how it stands now.

Don't judge too harshly! Post up more pics!
Nah, just the opposite. I'm only on the 2nd page and its spawned a slew of google search tabs. Thanks for documenting.

Here it is now. Feels strange exiting the truck, my feet touch the ground a whole lot sooner, although from the pictures, it doesn't look all that lower.

My man going with the PYOs. Need to take a wire brush and paint to those steps (he says as his truck hasn't even been washed in 6 months 😆). Give me a shout if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing your truck around!

I like those STT Pros on yours.
Lol, yeah the steps are trashed. I'd like to find a reasonable pair that will last a few years without a scrape and paint.
I'm sure I'll have some questions for you. Cheers
