Truck has been at the local Chevy dealer service center for over a month now. Where I live in southern MD is was the only place I thought I could tow the truck to. My problem started with the transmission showing an error on the DIC that I needed to put it in neutral to reset because the selected gear would not engage. There was a flashing line under the gear selected and the truck would not move. Once at the shop they tried to reflash the ECU but it would not hold the code and they put one on order. Now I am told that there are no transmission ECU's in the GM supply system and none being manufactured. They say they are still "looking" but I think I need to come up with another plan. 75000 miles on a beautiful trunk so I hate to let it just go. Any suggestions, or is an example of the new technology age creating an obsolescence issue forcing us to buy a new vehicle every 10 years? Thanks.
You are joining a growing list of people who cannot get a TCU and have lawn ornaments. I heard a rumor that GM will be making a run of the units in spring 2023. We'll see.

Thank you. I actually just found that video and wish I had found it many moons ago. Now I just need to locate the part, but armed with a better part number maybe I'll have some success. Really appreciate all the input on this issue and hope everybody has a great week.

There are many for sale on Ebay but the sellers are really proud of them!
I ordered one from eBay several months ago. After a 30 day delay, the seller finally admitted he did not have the 24256861 part; but offered to ship somthing else that would "probably work". For this issue, I would not trust anyone who says they have the part on eBay. And the $7-8000 price is ridiculous.
