So the truck is going back tomorrow. I picked it up and eveything was good. After 3 miles all hell broke loose and it started running roughly, check engine light came on, stabilitrac and traction control turned off. I think the dealer did something to disable the AFM - the truck never went into 4 cylinder mode the whole drive home.

Wasn't the broken spark plug electrode in cylinder #1? Now you have a misfire in cylinder #2?
I just hope the dealer doesn't dismiss the warranty due to the damage being caused by the spark plug.

The spark plug had absolutely nothing to do with it. I wouldn't worry about that. The electrode is completely intact and in good condition. Just has a small piece of ceramic broken off. It is an obvious fresh break also. If it ran that way it wasn't for long and running clean when it happened. I looks like you just chipped it when you got it out.

I initially replaced the coil on cylinder 1 when I started having issues. It didn't fix the issue. When I pulled the plugs and replaced them the issue went away. There was a ticking noise I thought was a lifter. That's when I took it to the dealer. Now cylinder 2 is misfiring...they can deal with it. Rediculous. It was running great with the AFM turned off but apparently consuming oil. Now it's having some misfire issues again.

How long since the plugs were replaced? Do you have oil in the intake? Cylinder #2 doesn't deactivate so probably from the crankcase ventilation or ring issue if AFM. Did they do anything else other than checking the plugs?

OK, so are there any issues still presenting or is your truck seemingly running correctly now?

It's running great. Still keeping an eye on the oil consumption though. I have to take it back to the dealer after 1000 miles so they can check it. I appreciate all the input around the issues with my truck. I love my truck. I hope to keep it for many more miles. I'll update when it's been 1000 miles and we'll see where things go from there.
