Hello everyone, I own a 2020 1500 5.3l V8 RST. She’s got 64000+ miles and I’ve just started having issues with the truck wanting to turn over. I go to turn it on and it’ll struggle then stop. All the power is on but the engine is off. Only solution I found to turn over was, disconnect battery, wait a few minutes, then reconnect battery. Unfortunately, this only worked for a week. After the 3rd time this happened to my truck, my solution won’t work as often. Hope someone has had this problem and corrected it.

I would test to see if it's the problem. Voltmeter across the battery when you crank, if the voltage stays above 12V or so, the battery is likely not the problem.

If the battery voltage doesn't drop below that, then I would start with disconnecting, cleaning both sides of the connection, and then reconnecting the main power and ground cables between the battery, engine, frame and starter.

Replace the negative battery cable. It can look fine, but it is a known issue. Did all the ground cleaning on my 17 when I had electrical issues and some no starts but it didnt help. as soon as I replaced the cable evrything worked perfectly.

^^^Holy crap!!! :eek::eek::eek: Almost five year old truck, owe $44K and pay $900/month? I’m speechless… 🤷‍♂️

$700 diagnostic fee? :oops: You need to find another dealer. Or go to an independent shop. Your truck is probably not under warranty anymore, so no need to pay dealer fees.

I can tell by reading your statement, you have no clue how repo's work.
Think very carefully before you do what your saying, because you will not get out of that loan.
Step one: You turn in truck for repo
Step two: GM will take it auction and sell it to highest bidder
Step three: It WILL sell for quite a bit less than what you owe
Step four: GM will then come after you for the difference, and they will win that battle.

You can't just drop a vehicle off and wash your hands of the deal.
You signed Loan papers to take on that loan, and are obligated to pay it back.
Turning in your truck does not relieve you of that obligation.

No kidding!
Can't imagine having that kind of payment on a 5 year old vehicle.

story doesn't sound right... it comes across to me as being written by someone much younger than a 60 yo (and he'd have to be at least that age to have been buying gm for 40 years).
