I am upgrading to a 2021 2500HD to tow our camper and was wondering what kind of mpg everyone is averaging towing and not towing with their 2500 trucks. I can't seem to find city/hwy mpg listed anywhere online, I will be getting a 2021 double cab 4wd 6.6 gas engine.

Manufacturers do not provide MPG for HD trucks. According to fuelly.com, across 15 different trucks the average is roughly 10-11 MPG. Of course, this may not be the same as what you would experience, as you may tow more or less than the average of these owners.

I would think it is close to the last of the 6.0L 2500`s. Which is what I have and we all know the MPG`s on those is not good. See if you can get one with a bigger gas tank mine is a 26 gallon and I have to get gas every 3 hours so it is a PITA if you get the 34 gallon I think not sure but makes a big difference.

I get around 13mpg on my work commute. I live and work somewhat in the country, so all two lane roads, and a few stop signs.

We pulled our toy hauler camper this weekend, and without the toy is roughly 9000lbs plus. Got about 7mpg on the way home, but I was not taking it easy.

Mine is a crew cab 4x4. I wanted a double cab, but couldn't find one equipped like I wanted. The back seat area in the crew is massive, and kind of wasted space for us.

Crew cab here. Only 2000 miles so far. Get about 15 errand running, 13-14 pulling my 2000lb boat and around 10 pulling 6000lb RV. I am not aggressive driver.

I only have about 600 miles on mine and its a 3500AT4 crew. Got about 7.5to 8mpg towing with my 12k 5th wheel and about 13.5 around town. This is about 1mpg better than the '16 6.0 I had. Not bad considering bigger motor.
