Hi guys, newbie here with a question about 4x4 wheels. My 1999 steel wheels will fit on my 90 but my 90 stock wheels will not clear the calipers on the 99. Can I make them work with a spacer or am I S.O.L.

I believe it starts at '98 where you must use a 17in or larger wheel to clear the caliper. You could fit a massive spacer in there to theoretically make them work, but don't.

From 98 to 07 classic you needed a 16 inch minimum to clear the brakes. 2007 NNBS and up requires 17 inch minimum to clear the even larger brakes.

Both my 90 and my 99 came with 16s from the factory, but for some reason the 90 wheels will not fit over the 99 truck calipers, that's why I was wondering if a spacer could solve the problem. thanks for the replies.

The backspacing on the 90 wheels is the main reason they will not fit on your 99,
i wouldn't do spacers just to clear the calipers, buy new wheels instead.

It was actually 2005 when they went to 17"rim as the smallest. So prior 2004 and older, you can use 16"
