AFM Modifications

Alrighty, this is my first time on this forum and I hope to gain some knowledge from it. I have a 2007 new body style Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 AFM motor. I would like to do some upgrades and I started with the Range plug in programmer to shut off AFM. Although this does shut off AFM I do realize that the lifters and cam shaft are still different. Upon searching this topic I discovered kits to eliminate AFM all together which include lifters, head bolts, gaskets, etc. Some options for an additional cost are a new camshaft (LS6) and such. This kind of swap does appeal to me but I am afraid that doing these modifications will require a lot more work and money then it is worth like huge amounts of reprogramming in the ECU which I have no experience with and do not wish to mess with. One other thing I was looking in to was upgrading the intake manifold (to an LS6 manifold possibly). If I were to do that, I am assuming it would require different injectors and again, lots of computer work and simply a pain. This truck is a daily driver so I am not looking for 500hp. Just a little more get up and go. I have found varied answers across the internet and I getting very confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't put much into it until your ready to do the whole shebang. 07 with how many miles ? Your not gonna get much improvement from any bolt on stuff (maybe a few hp ). That's just my 2 cents worth.
