I've contacted a highly rated local driveline repair shop. When I asked about the cost to repair a G80, I was told they don't even bother any more because they're all around junk, an answer I wasn't surprised to hear but wanted to ask anyway.

When I asked what he'd suggest for a replacement, he said they do about one of these a week and suggests an Auburn cone-style limited slip. I asked about t he Eaton TrueTrack and he said that's a heavier-duty unit that he could install for about $100 more.

Any thoughts on the Auburn? This is a work truck used in the suburbs, and it rarely sees 4WD, and will likely never see aggressive off-road use.
