Back-up sensor

I have a 2022 Silverado 1500 RST. When I am backing up, the camera works fine, but there are no "beeps" as I get close to something. I trialed this with my closed garage door and a parked car. Both times I could have hit the object without any "beeping". Is this turned on and off by a setting or do I have an issue the Dealer needs to look at?

Does your truck have the parking sensors in the rear bumper?

That is a nice blue truck in your avatar! Don't forget to update your profile info, still shows a 2019.

If there are no rear sensors, then you don't have that feature.

Likely wasn't any issue to solve.
Pretty sure the truck didn't actually have backup sensors, just the camera.

You might want to post up more information.
Year of truck, trim level, etc.

Not all of them will have audible sensors, even though they have a backup camera.

Unfortunately, as of 2022 Silverados, GM no longer has the rear park assist (sensors and beeping) installed as a standard feature on RST and many other models. Only on High Country and super expensive models. My 2017 Silverado LT had rear park assist as standard, and I really miss it on my 2024 Siverado RST that cost a whopping $75K. SHEESH!!! So I'm having to bite the bullet and I'm looking to have an aftermarket park-assist system installed by York Electronics at my Chevy Dealer. That's costing me $1K CAD. SHEESH!!! So many disappointments from GM over the years, so I'll never buy GM again! Anybody wanna buy my truck?!

If I could remove the rear park assist sensor thing from my '13 and give it to you, I would. It's annoying.

No parking sensors in my 2015 truck yet somehow I haven't backed into anything so far (hopefully I didn't just jinx myself). Why do you even need them if you have a camera?
Our 15 Imapla has the backup beeping sensors and they seem like a waste. I do however love the cross traffic detection sensors, even though I still use the mirrors.

Not sure why you would "Assume" that.

My 2012 Silverado didn't have backup sensors.
My 2019 GMC Sierra does not have them either.

In both cases, I knew they were not there before I purchased.

Our 2017 Camaro SS does have the backup sensors though.
But to be honest, I wouldn't care one way or the other.

If I am spending any amount on a new vehicle, I have already done all my research and know exactly what it does or does not have as far as standard equipment or options.

...well, not EVERYONE assumes stuff when they are making a $50k+ purchase. Some people ask a bunch of questions, do a bunch of research, read through all the documentation for the vehicle, stuff like that, before buying expensive stuff. I've never purchased a new vehicle and still know that the manufacturers regularly change what 's in their various trim levels and option packages.

Hey guys I hate to hijack this but I just bought a $1,000,000 Lamborghini and I assumed it had full autonomous driving in it. I didn't test it out but yea just like everyone I just assumed since lower priced Teslas have it then it probably did.
Wanna buy it?
