I don't know what all information you need but I have a 2011 Sierra 1500 with a 5.3 regular cab 8ft bed upgraded trailering suspension (I believe the Z83) front disc and rear drum brakes. I tow trailers on a regular basis and I have about 37,500mi on my truck right now. I was wondering when it would be recommended to change my brake pads? I don't want to wait till I hear them grinding to change them.

You shouldnt hear grinding, that would mean you have gone metal on metal and thats no good, itll start with a slight squeak if anything. Yoy can also look at your brake pad, a new brake pad will have 12mm youll want to replace around 3mm. you could also look into a shop doing a free brake inspection itll take like 2 min and if they try and charge you tell them to fist there selfs its the eisiest thing to do, You dont even have to take off a rim

You only change them when they are getting worn. You should inspect them for wear around every 10k miles, or more if you use them under a heavy load often. I would change them when they had about 10% left.
