Has anyone else had problems with the pulley shaft on their power steering pump snapping? I've had it happen 3 times now. Truck is a bone stock 2000 1/2 ton 5.3l 4wd w/ only 165k miles. I'm running stock size tires and don't go off road or anything like that. I'm using Delco reman pumps from different suppliers. (First one was the original, then one from Rockauto and now one from O'reileys.)

I know this is an old thread but did you ever figure it out? I also have a bone stock 2000 Chevy 4x4 z71 and it has also broken 4 power steering pump shafts. I have replaced the hoses and blew out the cooler with no luck. Installed a new steering box this time also. I’m stumped! Been a heavy equipment mechanic for 30 years and I feel dumb.
