Broken headlight tabs

817 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  CaRrZy92
I recently had some work done on my headlights and on the return shipping the top mounting tabs broke off both sides. Has anyone had any success repairing these? I know there's plastic welding products, but I don't think that will be strong enough. I've also seen "Hot stapler" guns but I think the material is too thin for staples. Any recommendations? I'd really like to repair the tabs instead of buy new housings since I had projectors retrofitted.

Thanks

There are types of extremely tough plastic epoxies that you might be able to use. I would recommend using an epoxies that you have to bond before applying. Those are usually the ones that work like quick cement and work well. Of course it could work and it might not. I would try that first and then make sure to check them every so often to make sure that it is still holding. Of course hindsight is a bitch but I would recommend insuring the package next time you gotta ship it. I do it with all of my automotive shipping.

I'm in a dispute with Fedex but I have little faith i'll get anything..

I'll look into the epoxies, thanks for the advice.
