I drive a 2014 Silverado 1500 4x4 crew cab & often tow a toy hauler. I'm looking at all performance options: throttle body spacer, programer, etc. I have replaced the air filter with a K&N & notice a difference, but before forking over the $$$ I'd like to know if a CAT back will make an improvement.

Tb spacer won't do anything unless you have a carburetor. A cat back can help, but won't be some big boost in power without headers.

tuner will be your best investment for towing help. cat back wont do much but sound better.

Tuner, long tube headers, CAI and exhaust should build you roughly 45-50 hp in a 5.3 or 6.2. Most of that is probably the headers and tune. I've never really had much faith in exhaust for performance, besides removing any sever bends or crimped/restricted sections. But in a nutshell Backpressure= bad pressure. I personally will never fork out $800 for an exhaust system. I'll just straight pipe it myself if I want performance.

thanx for the feedback. I went ahead with the TB spacer & reprogrammer & there is a notable difference. Next test will be towing the toy hauler.
