I found some mixed answers online and in my owners manual and the haynes manual so im here for help.

I want to change the fluid in my transfer case, rear diff and front diff.
Which fluids do i get? Are they all the same?
Also how do i know which transfer case/diff i have?

First, from reading the owners manual, it's pretty specific about what fluids to use, for each of those things. The only part that MIGHT not be clear is the front axle iin that there is a choice, if it needs 80W90 or 75W90 depending on which 1500 you have (most likely 80W90, for a regular 1500).

My opinion of Haynes manuals is that the paper they use is excellent for starting a campfire. They are largely filled with generic info that is shared between all their manuals, with relatively little vehicle-specific info. If you are going to diagnose and repair your vehicle, charm.li has a version of the full service manual for free, but I would recommend a subscription to alldatadiy.com , as it has searching and much better navigation tools. It will be MUCH more complete and accurate as to how to repair your vehicle, as the information comes from GM.

As for online opinions regarding what fluid to put in what hole in your truck, they are generally as valuable as the amount of money you paid to read them.

NQH is your transfer case's RPO code. It's the 2-speed Magna Power MP3023.

Front differential is 8.25 and rear is an 8.6. The original spec fluid for the front was 80W90 but since they discontinued it, GM now recommends the same synthetic fluid for the rear, 75W90. I try to use GM fluids but keep a couple gallons of Lucas 80W90 for the front axles in my trucks.

Would it be okay to use gm fluid for front and rear?
