Hey guys,

I recently bought my truck from quirk chevy in Braintree MA

It is a 2004 1500 with 39,000 .. recently after purchase I noticed a sound when shifting from second into third gear.
Its a very subtle clunk sound, not multiple clunks just one.. and only when shifting between 2-3.

I want to know if anyone has had similar issues with their trucks, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also I talked to a friend who works in the chevy service department he said it could be the front yolk? and that there was a service call put out for this noise a while back. my vin number came up as not replaced with the redesigned front yolk. I hope I can find some answers here.

thanks a bunch

Hi Nick, Not sure that I'll be of much help, but I have a 2003 Silverado 1500 that had 49K on it when I bought it in 2005, and its done the same thing since day one. The truck now has 89K on it and I've just lived with it. I think I remember reading somewhere that it is play in the rearend gears.
