hello, i have a 2021 gmc sierra 1500 and plan on getting a small camper, light weight 2k pounds to pull. i have the original frame mounted hitch it came with the towing package and it has a 2 inch opening. for a receiver. will a standard 2inch receiver work with any travel trailer tung, or do i need a drop down receiver for matching the height of the trailer tung?

Seems you won’t need a WD hitch buy the regular receiver with the 1” ball shank and the matching ball. It will have a higher tow rating than one with a 3/4” ball shank. As already said you want your camper as level as possible.
This is mine with the 1” ball shank. It’s a 500 lb tongue / 5000 lb rating.

This is true for heavier tongues, but his may be only 220 lbs so truck might drop an inch.
