Wow,, Finally slowing down tonight,, a good size glass of makers Mark after simmering two pots of Super Bowl Chili.. Its just the base,,one hot,, and one not so hot.
The hot is a three bean mix with Habanero's and jalapeno's, fire roasted stewed tomato's, smoked tomato sauce and Ortega chili's chopped and roasted. Also a few other secret goodies!!
along with onions and peppers and all the spices,
The mild has two beans, corn, and all the other Chili fixins. Both simmered for eight hours to meld the flavor.
Sundays weather report is big wind cool and cloudy, so smoking and BBQing will be difficult. So ramping up for a "Cook/Smoke day for tomorrow,, 26 hours for the brisket so thats gonna get going in the late morning,,Tri Tip will be done late afternoon.
No ground beef in the Chili, both will have good beef chunks and the Hot will have some brisket mixed in. Along with the Tri Tip.
Both Chili's are getting Budweiser Chelada's instead of water base..
Gotta make a pile of pico de gallo in the morning,
Sunday will be pots on the stove simmering and warming..
Home made BBQ sauce, and a pile of caramelized onions and peppers will be the rest of my Duties Sunday.
The game?? It will be background noise,, My team is out of it this year..
