Hey all, I bought my truck NEW and she has some dents and dings over the years (those will be fixed later) but she's mine, and paid for, and I'm keeping her. Just an old Work Truck model with a few upgrades and not near as shiny and pretty as a lot of those here but a good truck. Time for some LOVE!

My second set of tires is about gone (I rotate every oil change and got 85K out of the factory tires and 70K out of the current tires) so NOW was the time at 54 years old and a Country Boy, to finally LIFT my truck!

So far have just done a DIC mod, backup camera, heated rear glass, 7" LCD stereo, wheelwell liners and underseat storage box and hard tonneau cover from GMC when new.

Rounding up STUFF and a few extra TOOLS (I am a tool junkie) and doing a flowmaster exhaust, K&N Blackhawk CAI, a Tuner (not sure which one yet), 7" McGaughy's Lift, New MOOG ball Joints, N-FAB stainless steel Nerf Bars and 18x9 Method NV wheels with BFG KO2 35x12.50R18's. There will be more as I already feel the SICKNESS creeping in!!!!!!

Here is a pic of the wheels rolled up next to the truck like a 5 year old kid! Can't stand it!

And a preview video if it works:

Installed the flowmaster exhaust today. It's the Force II Cat Back (series 50). Went in pretty easily and looks great. Not much louder than stock though. Almost wishing I had went with a 40 series but there is still a little rumble in the cab here and there. Enough to put a smile on your face without being annoying.

Not sure why the pics are sideways or upside down? When you click on them they are upright???? (fixed pics for post but now crooked when you enlarge them, I give up!)

You did it! Excellent Darryl. Looking forward to watching this build progress. Should end up looking fantastic!

The pictures can be tricky. Phone pictures I take in landscape always come out right...but you do have to be careful of the orientation when you take them especially when doing upside down or looking down type shots. I make tweaks on the computer first to get them right then post. For landscape pictures...even if they look right on the computer...it will sometimes rotate them. I have found that if I crop them a little off the top and bottom and save...then post them...usually dont have a problem. Something in the orientation recognition software.
Never too late to have some fun with the truck. GL with the mods
Looks great! Im a real fan of the Method NV look with the machined body and the matte black ring. Looks really good on white trucks like yours! Im loving the thoughts for this build!! You'll love the look once you can squeeze those tires up in there. Very interested how this is going to turn out. And who said a good ole work truck cant be given some love and become a nice beast of a rig?
You know I used to think I wanted rear exit exhaust...then ran across a good deal on the Borla cat back I have which had the side exits...and now it has grown on me and I think I like it more. Yours looks nice and tight up to the body too....at least from the angle shown.

Detailed the engine bay after 8 years, removed and cleaned the throttle body and installed the K&N BlackHawk Cold Air Intake.

Will get the rest of the truck shined up a bit as I get time. The plan is to do the lift NEXT WEEKEND!

Looks nice and clean! What did you use to clean it all?
I wrapped foil around the alternator and a few other things and hosed it down with a soft fan spray. Then I made a solution of diluted Simple Green (about 3 to 1) and squirted EVERYTHING with a spray bottle, then did the same in a bucket and used a long bristled brush and scrubbed it all using a microfiber cloth where brush would not reach. Then I hosed it all off and dried it with my leaf blower, then a final dry and clean with another microfiber cloth. Not having any other 'dressing' I sprayed sections at a time with a foaming tire shine and wiped down with a microfiber cloth again. It hasn't looked this good since it was new.
I love the dual exit in 90s like how the square body trucks used to have. Can you get another pic from the back, looking up at the pipe routing? Probably if you put the camera just about below your ball hitch and faced it up, would show it well. I haven't seen any good shots of the way it wraps around the tire on any dual exhaust for these trucks.

Everything looking nice and clean. You will love it even more with a custom tune and probably wish you had done that mod from the beginning. :D
Wow! Nice job on the exhaust!!

Looks great!!

Sorry for taking so long. Hope this is the shot you are asking for. Passenger side routing has similar clearance.

That's interesting. My Borla cat back was routed differently. The left side you show in back of the differential...mine goes up and over somewhat like the factory does on the right side. Which was a good thing in my case since I also installed a Hellwig rear sway bar that would interfere on a routing like yours.

I like the clean look of the tips on those. Mine have a much larger step...I think they are like 4" tips. Yours look more like 3 I am guessing.
The right side goes up and over, so does the left actually but it goes up and over on the right and then cuts across behind the differential. Not crazy about that route exactly but it doesn't hurt anything I suppose, just odd. Yes I believe those tips are 3".
That does seem odd routing, but being Borla I doubt it effects the system much negatively.

I gotta say I love this shot, the double dully :D

His is the Flowmaster with that routing Jasen...mine is the Borla...
Almost house most ram exhausts are ran

That's a good shot of the exhaust route, thanks.

From what I've looked at a lot of kits seem to go over the differential diagonally then back down to exit.
You "can" have clearance issues that way with the spare. I know with my dual mbrp I didn't like how close it was. So I just kept the spare in the bed

The BIG TRANSFORMATION starts in a couple days!!!!!

Excited to start yet apprehensive too as it's a big job I have never done before and working alone.

After much agonizing I finally decided on a tuner and it's ordered. Not the local 'favorite' on this board but I want to try it out. Got the dash pod accessory too.
