I looked through other topics before this post but did not see anything that would answer beyond what I have already called myself attempting
2002 Silverado 2500hd ext cab. Passenger window works from driver and passenger controls, but the driver window does not.
Ive replaced the switch, regulator and motor.
Checked the harness in the door jamb and found one broken wire that i repaired last night and the window worked, this afternoon i went for a test drive and the window is not working again.
Thinking my 'fixed' wire was the culprit, I cut out the part i fixed prior and repaired it again being sure i had solid connectivity.
Im still not getting power at the driver window, but locks, and heated seat controls and passenger window control works, mirror is not but I have a new switch on order for that.
I checked for other broken wires in the harness, and called myself checking fuses, Im at a loss here...Any ideas on what i could do or should do?

sounds like one of the other wires has been flexed until the strands broke inside the insulation. pull the switch out and probe while working the switch to see what wire powers up when you switch it. chase that all the way to the BCM. then look at the motor and figure out which wire is hot and ground and chase those back to the BCM.
I would apply 12v to the motor and make sure it works first.

I was out working on the truck today and tested the window motor, it was getting power but during the process i tested the harness plug at the motor again and it was intermittently working depending how i held the harness and i narrowed it down to the last 7 inches before the plug goes into the motor so i am gonna have to either cut the insulation, cut the wire at the short so i can add heat shrink and solder it back together or i will need to replace the wire and connector, but hell, im just happy to finally know what the deal is with it
