I had a dump before the rear axle on my 2000 NBS and I never once had a problem with fumes or anything.

 

May sounds funny but what I have read I've seen that If cutting it, it will make it a little louder and that's also what I want. Is this true? Even if its just a stock muffler?

 

I cant say too much about being louder, I bought the truck with the dump on it.

 

How long did you have?

 

It's going to make it a little louder when dumped, because it's resonating under the truck, and bouncing off of everything under the truck. It won't be much loader, but it will be loader. And as for fumes, that only a problem in cars and suv's, under the bed the fumes aren't going to be a problem. Under the cab you may have a problem, but thats too far forward to dump.

Alright here is my video of the stock exhaust vs. the dumped exhaust. I think it sounds a little bit deeper off of idle, haven't driven yet but I like it so far

Sounds really good! It sounds and looks a heck of a lot better.

 

Just did mine yesterday. Little deeper, not much louder, but a whole lot cleaner-lookin'.

 

That's one of the reasons I wanna do it. It looks better lol.

Mine is dumped under the cab...right at the back edge..never had an issue with fumes...ill try to get a pic for you.

 

well one of the two packages came today, so why not put that bad boy on!! Will hopefully get the muffler tomorrow or friday

It'll be a little louder if you use a tip that has a larger outlet than the inlet. The megaphone effect.

So you guys held that gun to my head and made me do it. Out came the sawzall! No to get a tip at some point. But either way the stupid pipe is gone...
