I thought I'd post a review on the Dynomax Cat-Back kit I bought for my 2012 Silverado 2500HD 6.0 Gas.

I purchased a Dynomax 39511 cat-back system, which is a 4" pipe, 5" tip, and an UltraFlo muffler for about $600 online.

Install:
It was easy to install and went on quickly. I was impressed. The only install problem I had was the clamp for the tip was really cheap. It broke before I could get it tight.

Sound:
Very nice! It was a little loud on startup if you're in a residential neighborhood late at night. Other times, remote starting the truck was fun as I could always hear it fire up even though I was inside my house or another building. While driving it was great. The sound was deep and aggressive, but not too loud. Several of my neighbors actually gave compliments! The only thing I did not love about the exhaust was the noise level on long trips. I tow often and trying to talk to your passenger when towing was a little difficult. It wasn't extremely loud, but it was a little more than I really wanted towing. I never found it annoying but my passengers complained just a little.

Overall Quality:
This is the negative portion of my post. Quality was pretty bad. Dynomax advertises the pipes are made from 409 stainless while the tip and muffler are 309 (if I have that right). Every piece of the exhaust was rusted and pitted after only 2 months. I really don't think this system would have lasted more than 6 months. Dynomax does not cover cosmetic issues (no matter how severe). Even though every part was warranted for function, I was not willing to take the exhaust on and off the truck twice a year to replace it.

Dynomax customer support recommended I paint the exhaust with header paint. For the $600 I paid, I expected better.

Customer Service:
The people I've talked to on the phone have been very polite and truthful. The 90 day "Safe and Sound" warranty is the reason I chose Dynomax in the first place. Overall I'm very happy with the company.

Final:
Awesome system and good company. I just wish it was SLIGHTLY quieter in the cab and was built better (didn't rust).

If you're interested, I have a video posted on Youtube.

Hope I did that right. If not, here's just a link:

Sorry about the wind noise. Thats the best I could do the day I took it off the truck.

I paid about $200 more for the Corsa Sport cat back. I bought for the "no drone on highway" promise. It did not disappoint. I've had it for about a year now, and not a hint of rust. Except for normal road grime, it still looks as good as new.

I still think I paid too much, but it is a quality product.
