I've changed the circuit board, the bulbs etc to try and fix the turn indicator to no avail.

Now I have been told by a friendly guy who followed me about a bit that my tail-lights are not working at all!

I have no idea what is going on and can't really afford the repair bill via a garage. Any ideas folks?

Check the grounds for the real harness assembly.

Have you checked the harness with a meter to see if you are getting power. I assume you checked the fuse. Most likely the ground as said but you need to a meter on it.

Ok, the bulb was really tight in, but on pushing it further in, both the brake-light and indicator now works!

After driving for a few hundred miles it comes loose again a bit. Then it stops working, another distance driven, starts working again!

Gremlins abound in this electrical system...
