Taking another poll here- what's your favorite place for auto parts? Mine is the local O'Reilly, since they're about 1 minute away, have a great staff, and have low prices. As for online, I don't think autoanything.com can be beat- they've got the best website (clean, live chat, organized, etc), a low price guarantee, and great product selection.

I have a low opinion af just about every franchize auto parts store I've been in. Way too much foreign made (read Made in China) products, bling and gimmicks. About all their good for is oil and shop rags. I guess that makes me the parts store curmudgeon.

Do most of my shopping on-line or get dealer OEM parts.

I prefer the advice at O"Reilly, but usually find stuff more in stock at Auto Zone. Auto Zone's private label stuff is not great though. I usually buy:
Oil at Wal-Mart
Plugs, wires, filters etc at O'Reilly (but buy OEM parts when possible)
All other stuff (mods/accessories) online.

I used to work for NAPA when I was in high school and summers while in college. They were always good, but tend to be a bit pricey. I never liked the fact they (still) don't post prices on the shelves. They are geared more toward the repair shop customer, so their quality is good. I still shop there when there's one nearby. But where I am in NY, there's only AutoZone. When I am in Nashville - there's so many I can't spit without hitting an O'Reilly's, AutoZone, AutoParts Plus or AdvanceAuto - probably a few more I'm forgetting.

I grew up in Michigan and they used to have Murray's Auto Parts. Wonder if they are still around?

Parts I go to the dealer, still get my employee discount even though I havent worked there for 5+ years. Aftermarket, Autoanything.com is by far the best I have found. Even to have it shipped up to Canada it is usually quite a bit cheaper.

I just set up an account on autoanything. I like how it can remember multiple vehicles, and can tailor the search results to your vehicle. Nice site!

Don't go to Auto Zone because there anti gun. They donate to anti gun organizations. OEM parts are all i will use unless there is a much better made aftermarket part. Part store parts are junk.

I trust NAPA and Carquest. Yes you can find SOME low quality parts there but you have to make it known to the counterman you want the premium part. I avoid Autozone because they are ALL about cheap Chinese parts. I'll probably get some hate letters from the Autozone fans.

Shame on you! Those trinkets on the front counter are top quality. ;)

My problem with dealerships selling parts is this: I needed the trim around the tailgate handle, and the local Chevy dealership wanted $60 for it. Found one at O'Reilly for $8. Matched perfectly to the truck... not the first time they've tried to rip me off, either.

The criminals in New York don't.

Anywho, I'll put autozone on my banned list as well.

+1 on that. Auto zone is the harbor freight of auto parts. Pretty much the same can be said for Advance Auto.

Knowles auto parts in Stockton CA is the best. May be a lil more in price but I love the fact that they don't have to look in a computer for every lil part you need. Most stuff they know off the top of their head. Also when they say they will have some thing the next day they have it. Great customer service and a great staff.

Would have to go with Auto Value when I was living up in MN, great place with tons of helpful guys, down in the south though, I am left with the biggest franchise places...
