Thanks for allowing me to join the group here. I was not sure which of the long list of GMC forums to join, but this one looked the most active so here I am.

I have owned quite a few GMC trucks over the years but my most recent vehicle was a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I traded that in last Friday night for a 2017 Sierra Denali Crew Cab and I already have 600 miles on it :D

I took it on quite a trip this weekend, and I am really happy with the choice made on getting this truck. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing any info I can on these trucks. Thanks!!

Welcome. I would like to hear about your impressions on the 2017 models. There are not too many on here yet. Congrats on the new rig.

Thanks for the welcome!

Gozzie, I'm sure I will be posting my thoughts here, but so far it's everything I hoped for. The one thing that sticks out on it is the lane assist feature, although I'm not sure that's what they call it.

I'm not sure how new this feature is, but it's really amazing. When driving down the highway, the truck will steer back into the lane if I start to drift toward the fog line, it into the center lane. I first noticed it while changing lanes after overtaking a slower vehicle. When I tried to get back over after passing, the steering gave me resistance when I tried to change lanes.
I finally found a safe spot and took my hands of the wheel... It bounced back and forth 3 times over the course of a half mile before it boxed and flashed a message telling me to take the wheel ;)

Technology is a trip!

Ha, well dont become the next tesla story of technology failing...

Real nice lookin truck, plan on doing some small changes to make it stand out even more?
or big changes??
I'm not going to make any big changes, as I'm not using this as an off-road vehicle. We have a 2001 Wrangler that my wife refuses to sell, so this truck is mainly a work truck.

I did purchase the carpet kit and tonneau cover for the bed at the same time, and I will be having that installed on Friday.

I stopped by my local stereo shop Tuesday and got a quote of $550 to install an amp and subwoofer under the left rear seat. I was disappointed in the lack of bass in this truck compared to my grand Cherokee.

I will be ordering a radar detector mount from Blendmount tomorrow. I've had one on the last 5 cars and also installed them in many friends & relatives cars. It mounts the detector to the bottom of the rear view mirror and gets away from having things mounted to the windshield. I also use a wiring adapter from the same company called "Mirror-tap" that traps into the power in the mirror and plugs into the radar detector so no more coiled cords on the dash.

That's all I can afford to do at the moment ;)
