fixing rusty rocker panels

Hey guys,

The rocker panels on my truck have been getting pretty rusty, and I want to paint over them and stop the rust from spreading while they are still a little bit solid. I bought some rust oleum rust reformer in a spray can. Has anybody had any experience with this? And does it work? It's supposed to convert rust into a "protected paintaible surface."

Thanks guys. I'm open to other products and suggestions also.

Honestly its going to look good through the winter and then they will look bad come spring. Unless you actually remove the rockers and fix the problem the rust your fixing is just the surface symptom. Your BS has rockers that rust from the inside out so you have to get in there and stop that rust properly for it to be meaningful.

You will probably have to replace them...there's a product called POR-15 that you could look into, but eventually the problem will resurface (pun intended)

Although a quick search online will show you lots of ways to do it fairly cheap and easily. Just need to get a buddy with a welder and a cut off wheel and have at er.
