I recently bought a 2013 LML where the previous owner had apparently deleted the converter, SCR/DPF, EGR, etc.
I have a chemical sensitivity to the 'diesel smell' in exhaust that gives me essentially an asthmatic response.
Most modern diesels don't bother me, but this one seems to. I can avoid idling it and so on, but...

Does anyone know if I can reinstall the catalytic converter, while keeping the EGR and DPF out of it, and not need to re tune the truck?

Will the EGR being deleted cause the converter to plug up sooner, or the other way around?

I'll be getting the title today and hopefully will be able to figure out who the previous owner is and maybe I'll be able to get some info on what tune is on it.

Thanks!

You can install the DOC again and that will quiet it down a bit as well as cut down the smell. You can't however install the DPF due to the fact it will no longer regen and you'll just end up plugging it solid with soot fairly quick.
