Grinding noise Help

I noticed a grinding noise when i make a left or right turn.. . I don't hear it all the time its random. mostly on an incline. I can feel it in my steering wheel and seems like the truck slows down when this is happening.. I was out today and did a U turn to the left and heard it really bad ... I'm not sure if its in my lift of its an over turn from my tires .. any help will be appreciated

Ok so I have had my T/C off for the last 2 days and watching my dash every time I turn ... even know my T/C is off . I still see the light still engage and I hear that gringing noise . Any way to disable that
Mine does that as well when I have mine turned off and my tires slip.
I believe that the traction control is still disengaged, it's just giving you a warning that you've lost traction.

To fix that (If it's going off without losing traction and just turning), then go check the ABS cable coming from your 2 front wheel hubs. They're more than likely ziptied too tight to the knuckle and upper control arm.
I've only got one loose ziptire near the center of the knuckle that lightly holds the cable close to the knuckle and away from the wheel and the rest of the cable is free.

Just crank your wheel to lock each way and take a look at that cable. It might still look loose, but add in the few inches of suspension travel and that cable will tighten up pretty quick when going on inclines/declines/around turns while on a hill.

Any update on the fender rub? I still say that's your likely source.

What offset are your rims?

I though it was a fender rub.. But I took some White duct tape and placed over the plastic area where you thought it had a rub.. Figured White duct tape. Black tire.I would see tire marks it the tape would be gone... . after 2 days Tape is still very clean and white .. so now I'm really thinking its the T/C My rims are 20x10 with a -18 offset

Must have a bigger wheel well opening on the new model trucks then. I'd still keep that as a solution to the problem.

What I would suggest is find a steep hill in an underpopulated area and have someone walk beside the truck as you slowly drive up and down the hill while making sharp turns. That'll help you pinpoint the noise, and any visual signs of the grinding.
Im going to moms this weekend .. where the hills in Florida are .. I'll try that when I'm there. I did have a 2012 silveraldo ..and the wheel well is a tad bit bigger in this model.
I'll check the ABS lines tomorrow and see how he has then zip tied .. might be the issue

The loose cable will help a whole lot. I had countless guys on here telling me that I'm stretching my wires with how I had it ziptied and I was also experiencing the same issue as you with the power loss and all that good stuff.

I'll go snap a picture for you since I still have to cut the other ziptie on my passenger side :oops:
There you go. Only place it's ziptied is by the center of the knuckle on that little L bracket. This keeps it as loose as possible, but not enough for it to stretch or rub against the tire

I just went and checked mine its zip ties in 2 spots and the 2 connectors on the UCA its connected to .. I loosen it to but tomorrow in the day time i will get it looser
Could I splice in the wires and all wire to make them longer .. will that affect T/C it just unplug it .. Really dont need it with the bigger tires
I would track the wiring up to under the hood. I'm sure there's some slack left in the wiring for you to just undo some of the factory black tape and give it a gentle yank to free up that slack then retape it.

Try that first, if you've already tried the ziptie method from earlier. If that fails...I don't see why you couldn't just splice the wiring and extend it. Just make sure it's got some good protective covering over the wiring since it's exposed to the elements.
yup tried the zip tie .. sill having problems and seem to get worse over time... I'll try that

Worse overtime... I don't know why it would get worse, unless you're really just stretching the crap out of the wiring with each day that goes by.
Not sure .I need to take some time and really go thru it .. its hard to really find time
