I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71, and after look at the RPO codes I saw that I have the heavy duty suspension. What exactly does that package change about the suspension?

Changes absolutely nothing. The Z71 package on those models only adds decals, skid plates, and a bigger air box. the "46mm tuned shocks" are the same as the heavy duty suspension, which is on pretty much all models minus wt and magnetic ride control models

^^^ exactly what judson said. I found that out after the dealership tried to screw me out of money for having a "HD" suspension.
