the lower ball joints seem to hurt alot more...

Seriously though, if you order the parts online and your doing it yourself why not just replace both and not have to do the job again in six months when the other fails? Plus you should have an alignment done after so it will save you money long term if you will save because when you tighten up the top or the bottom the other will get more stress and most likely fail soon anyway.

Unless you are on a really tight budget, do all 4. If one is worn the others are the same or not far behind.
