Sounds like it's dosing fuel through the 9th injector and the flange is leaking. Fairly common. I believe there is a TSB on it.
That was one of the tsbs I found on it , I saw they made new downpipes with flanges which would make sense for it not properly sealing metal to metal but when I replaced the 9th injector I drove it 200 miles and just when I got back into town it started steaming again.Sounds like it's dosing fuel through the 9th injector and the flange is leaking. It's only gonna produce that smoke (it's not steam) when it is in regen. When not in regen the 9th fuel injector is just along for the ride. (No fuel added in the exhaust, no fuel leak, no smoke)That was one of the tsbs I found on it , I saw they made new downpipes with flanges which would make sense for it not properly sealing metal to metal but when I replaced the 9th injector I drove it 200 miles and just when I got back into town it started steaming again.

The def injector is working whenever the truck is running.
First TSB was to realign/tighten the joint.
Later tsb was to swap to the new style if a truck had the problem (they didn't all do it)
I forget when it was was for production LML's.
It’s leaking from where the down pipe and exhaust meet at the clamp and leaking onto hot exhaust causing white steam to riseIt's only gonna produce that smoke (it's not steam) when it is in regen. If so, yours has a different problem than the trucks in the hundreds of posts about that joint from back in the 2011 - 2014 era. It’s leaking from where the down pipe and exhaust meet at the clamp and leaking onto hot exhaust causing white steam to rise
