I have a 2005 1500 I recently purchased and after looking at the hour meter it only reads 214, however the truck has 121,000 miles, this doesn’t rlly make sense to me as dividing 121,000 by 214 comes out to around 570 I know the truck was a commercial vehicle for a while in Ohio but has been in az ever since any ideas how that works?

Yup, they will randomly reset. When I bought my '04 Sierra, it had just over 300 hrs on it, and 189k km...

How many digits does a 2005 hour meter have?

If its xxx.x? maybe it has 3214 hours.

121,000 / 3214 = 37.6
Perhaps a more plausible average speed?

No, my truck is currently over 3000 hrs now. The hourmeter will reset sometimes on these trucks.

Mine got reset on a dealer tranny change, but I’d recorded it. I’m close to 10,000 hours…
