I have a 2001 2500hd 4x4 with 6.0l.

I am trying to install new oil cooling lines.

Can someone please explain how to do this.

I am doing it in my driveway. I have the truck up on jacks.

I am currently trying to install the lines from the rear going forward.

I have the front part of the lines on the front side of the engine and the rear side of the rubber unable to manuever into

If you find a "How to" somewhere, send to me too.lol I have an 06 2500 6.0L gushing from a rusted oil cooler line. Just started poking around today to see how hard a job this is gonna be. Doesn't look too awful bad except the one bolt half way down the line above the front diff going into the block is a real bitch to get to. How did you get to that bolt to loosen? I found at this link one way to do this but, this is all I could find. Let me know http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forum/gene ... rucks.html. You may have to create an account but its free like this site.

I also have replaced all of my lines. The oil cooler lines are the last ones I am working on. With a flex head 3/8 extension I took the bolts out easy enough. The problem is removing the old assembly. It appears I will have to remove the engine mount from frame and jack up the engine about 1' to remove and install the new one.
If anyone has done this or has a better way I would certainly appreciate it. I plan on doing this tomorrow. Getting ready for the snow plow.
I could never understand the stainless steel exhaust and muffler and yet cheap brake lines that rust. My exhaust is fine but the dent from loosing the brakes could have been a lot worse.

Are you talking transmission oil cooler lines? If so I slide them through mount took some twists and turns and was rather frustrating but I did thread them through and new ones back into place. I did it while in a pit. I used a small jack on side of engine to lift it up a few inches to clear mount. If you had it on a hoist then also good but if on your back on driveway ouch this will be tough.
