You just back up and it resets. There are steel "wings" welded to the sides that pull it back to center as you back up. The hitch I have, the model 750, is rated for 2000 lbs. tongue weight and 50,000 lbs. pulling weight, obviously dependent on the towing vehicle's capacity. It also has their model 1000 rear bumper, which has the same rating, I believe.

Pretty cool engineering! They should make 1 to go into a receiver, it sure would save me a few trips in and out lining up. With the liftgates on my trucks you don't have a bumper to mount it on, also running a 5" drop hitch to keep the trailer level so probably wouldn't work for my application
