The OP originally just asked for an oil change recommendation….that’s a pretty simply question.
The it turned into a shit.show as people have to criticize, flame, judge, admonish others, and then the name calling starts.

silliness. the OLM is quite conservative. maybe your granddaddy's daddy's uncle's cousin's daddy told you that you had to change your oil every 3k miles while you sat on his lap as a toddler and that really stuck with you?

i have a 2016 2500hd with the 6.0. go to bob is the oil guy forum and you'll learn more than you ever wanted to know. bottom line you are definitely safe going by the OLM and can usually get away with using the same filter for 2 oil changes.

personally i cant see bothering to crawl under the truck and not swap the filter, so i change them both on the first convenient day when the OLM gets below 10%. delco filter and the cheapest dexos 5w-30 full syn i can find, used to be supertech but lately has been quaker state high mileage.
