I'd like to find more information on how and where to put the GM P/N 12112422 diode. Does it go in the wiring harness, or direct on the relay between the plug and relay?

I made it simple to buy a Bosch relay with integrated diode protection. I'm connecting to the 300 mA RAP feed and 15A Power feed. I bought a pigtail harness too and inline fuse holders too.

I wanted to thank the OP, this is exactly what I needed to switch my subwoofer amp on and off in my 2013 GMC Sierra with Bose. I connected my remote wire directly to PIN 8 of X14 junction block in the MBEC panel, and now have amp power when the ignition is turned off. I was coming up short in multiple places to get a suitable RAP source and this was soo easy, no vampires, no splices, just an easy GM 280 connector. Wish I would've found this sooner because of all the time I spent probing around, reading the 800 page outfitter guide (2015 GMC), and trying other methods mentioned in car stereo and truck forums.(y)(y)(y)

I’m only getting 11.7 amps thru the harness, which isn’t enough for the cutoff switch for my dash cam. Did I do something wrong? The ground came with a built in diode, could that be causing it?

A dash cam needs 11+ Amps? What's it doing? My radio, which also powers the backup camera, 7" touchscreen and has an amp for the speakers, runs a DVD player, and also powers 2 USB devices, only takes 10A...

MBEC X14 connectors come in every Tahoe PPV (police) so if there is one of those in a yard near you, the cost is about free. FYI there is a pretty handy relay center behind the glovebox in PPV also in case you need that This info is for MY12
