06 SLT double cad Z71 4x4, Ingen CIA, Optima red top, Helwig overloads
This will pretty much be a appearance build to make it my truck.
The original owner had already added an Injen CAI, Optima red top, Power master 225 amp alt. Helwig overloads, billet grill, SS door/tailgate handle covers, SS rocker kit, nurf bars, simulated brushed nickle dash kit, aluminum Z71 high mount light cover, SS bed rail caps, chrome wheel well trim, chrome door guard moldings added to the box and chrome exhaust tip.
I will be doing some de-chroming, badges and other goodies...
What I've done so far.
The high mount light cover is gone.
1250lm LED reverse lights
My truck was covered in chrome when I bought it, so today I started dressing it down. Have to get an eraser before I go after the side moldings, then I'll see how I feel about the rocker kit, but I think it will probably go away as well.
A work is progress, but thanx. A bit to much bright work for my taste especially for the color, but options are limited around here for used trucks unless you want a crew cab. But clean, and reasonable miles for a reasonable price is a good starting point
Got a couple projects partly done, there in redesign/and or lazy/ need to put my money into parts for the front end death wobble I'm trying to pin down.
What kind of glue did you use? I have a little peeling up on the passenger side that is hardly noticeable for now but I need to get on top of it before it gets bad.
I hauled these out of my old Astro cargo that had been sporting them for 8-9 years.
Disconnected the OE horns and spliced in to the harness for the trigger wire.
Follow up on the Philips LED tail lights.
I like the rearward firing set up, no hot spot and it lights up the whole taillight lens nice and even. Taillights are a bit brighter then OE and brakes lights are brighter, but not blinding, they do light up the curb 30 ft behind the truck from my parking spot.
Grill mod completed.
Was at the pickNpull Saturday dropping of the title for the Asto so they can pick the old girl up next week while I'm at work.
Figured I'd hit the yard and see if I could find a grill emblem in decent shape, found one on a 1st. gen Savanna. $2 admittance fee to the yard, got to the register and the girl say's, is that all your getting, yup, have a nice day now get outta here
FREE!!!! ok $2
I had to cut off one bolt leg on the C and file the side down on the other, I don't go through the car wash, so it should be fine.
Hit it with a little compound, polished and waxed, just about the right amount of wear and tare as the truck.
