Yeah the first one took me a solid 45 minutes to take apart because I was so nervous I was going to break something. But the second one took only about 5 since I knew exactly where all the clips where.

I got those exact ones and rewired them so that the front lights are both running and turn signal. They are great considering they are eBay specials, although the wiring on the drivers side mirror for some reason is too short on mine.

Yeah I was going to put a diode in there so they could be both, but I didn't feel like going out to radio shack last night haha.

Yeah I can do that stuff easily. I didn't take a lot of pics, but I think there's enough, along with a detailed description to to helpful.

I want mine to be running lights and turn signals so badly. Spring needs to get here so I can make that happen!

I made a how to thread earlier. It's just awaiting moderator approval. I'll post it when it gets approved.

They have them tied together in the mirror. The blue wire from the signals in the glass and the blue wire from the amber lights are soldered together right behind the glass, then come out to the rest of the harness as one wire.

I'm not sure how yours are set up since you have the ones for a gmt900, but mine had a plug for the power adjust and heat, which plugged into the truck. Then there is a white plug with 3 wires, black, blue, and white. Those are ground, turn power and reverse power. Those came with their own harness for the truck side of things that I had to wire.

Just a little update. These mirrors are wired differently from the real ones, so the front amber lights work as a turn signal, instead of the real ones which are clearance/running lights.

I liked the look of them being running lights on the real ones much better than turn signals, so I decided I'm going to change that. Here's some pics.

It's a little scary taking them apart since you need to use quite a but of force and it sounds bad when it finally pops apart. But luckily nothing broke haha.

All I had to do was cut the power wire going to the amber lights and solder a new wire to it. The ground was retained from the main harness. Then I just ran the new wire through the mirror arms and into the door then hooked it into the illumination wire for the window switches. So when ever the headlights or parking lights are on, the front amber are too, just like the real deal. They also flash when I unlock it.
Which one did you pop off first? What corner? I am scared to do this lol

I put the how to in order of the way I did it.

I took the bottom small mirror off first.

It is pretty scary for the first one. I contemplated stopping, but I already had the bottom mirror off so figured why not finish it.

If you do it, just take your time. Oh, and I would highly recommend taking them inside and letting them warm up to room temp if it's cold where you live. This will let the plastic become not so brittle and prone to easily breaking.

I am wondering if you have a measurement or could get one from the side window straight out to the edge of the mirror housing? I would like to do my homework on the width to see if I'll have to fold them in every time I park in the garage. These look nice and I'm sure they're better than the slide on mirror extension I use for towing.

I just measured mine and the drivers side is 16" from the glass to the outer edge of the mirror and the passenger side is 14.5" from the glass to the outer edge.
