Hi everyone, new member here. Picked up a 2008 Silverado 4WD 4.8 Ext cab work truck this week, my first truck in a long time. I don't drive much anymore so I wanted something that was solid and could haul my track toy around (and hopefully a future boat) without breaking the bank.
One thing I don't like about the truck are the brakes. YES I KNOW that the truck is not made to handle/brake like a car, yes I know the differences between how the drum and disc systems work. You won't change my mind lol discs are better.
I'm not asking for your opinion on disc vs drum, I'm wondering if anyone has used this rear swap kit from Little Shop MFG:https://www.littleshopmfg.com/gm-02-present-silverado-sierra-1500-rear-disc-brakes/
I searched the forum and google and couldn't find any reviews. My other option is to get one of these backing plates: https://sdparts.com/i-24085110-acdelco- ... ADO%201500 and get this (or simlilar) kit from rockauto (https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.ph ... 6&jsn=1135)which has Suburban dual piston calipers, rotors, and get some new lines and hook it all up. Got the idea from this thread: Silverado Rear Brake Conversion
Has anyone used either the Little Shop MFG kit or built their own with new parts? I don't want to bring a parts truck into my driveway ever again.
